Sadly, one of the club’s founding members, Bill wainwright, he passed away at the age of 102.
During World War Two Bill was a senior technical officer with the 34th armoured brigade. He spent most of the war helping to improve and modify British tanks. Following the war Bill worked as an industrial chemist which designed glass used in the space shuttle.
Bill was a founding member of the club, even though he has not played an active role in recent years. His memory will continue as one of our annual trophies is dedicated to him.
