NEW EXHIBITION: Forget views of Miami, pretty Welsh beaches and iconic architecture – photographer Richard Redshaw, above, is out to show landscapes of the Potteries can be just as beautiful.
The first exhibition by the 66-year-old from Hartshill compares shots of his native North Staffordshire with those from around the country and beyond.
His 35 studies make up the New Horizons exhibition which opens tonight at Gallery 116 in Church Street, Stoke.
The body of work is so big that an overflow display will run in parallel at Terry’s Cafe in Hanley’s intu Potteries Shopping Centre.
Richard said: “People wrongly brand the city as dirty and dour.
” By putting local photographs alongside those of Miami, the Angel of the North or a Tenby beach, I aim to show what we have here is just as beautiful.”
The exhibition will be on show at both venues until December 20.
