John Dennis

Photography has been an enduring interest of mine since I was given a Kershaw folding camera on my 16th birthday and 60 years later I am still trying to produce successful images which please me. For many years I had a darkroom and drew much inspiration from monochrome wet photography.

The advent of digital photography made colour more accessible and opened up enormous possibilities. I embraced Adobe PhotoDeluxe (the precursor to Elements) enthusiastically, but grew tired of my over manipulation. Despite some competition success with composite images I realised that my interest lies in trying to produce an interesting interpretation of life as I find it.

I have been a member of Newcastle, Crewe, and Alsager Camera Club (since 2000) and I find much to admire and enjoy in the work of the members although I do not necessarily want to emulate them.
