On Thursday 2 March we were treated to an entertaining and informative presentation from Fine Art photographer Neil Hulme. Having taken to photography only in his mid forties, Neil has gone on to develop his own style without influence from the world of club photography. Most images demonstrated Neil’s black and white, minimalist style of work very often utilising Lee Big and Little stoppers to create stunning fine art images. Most of Neil’s images were taken within 90 minutes travelling time of his base in Leigh, and the presentation was arranged according to the locations. Producing images of this quality and feel is dependent on the post processing as well as the capture of the scene, and Neil was both open and informative about the software and techniques he uses.

Neil’s presentational style was entertaining, the images universally excellent, and the advice on locations and post processing were both informative and practical. Highly recommended.
